Come August, the Scottish hills are warm with a purple carpet of heather, stretching for as far as the eye can see. The weather will be warmer too and it is pleasant to compare the heather hues with the deep blue/green of the lochs and sea. Then in the evening, sit back and be amazed as the vibrant colours of the sunset prevail; blazing red and orange through to pink – a sign that the next day’s weather will be good.
