Romantic February

Love is in the air this month, as well as frost sometimes. That’s why you might want to call at Gretna, near the Scottish Borders. Associated with runaway marriages, it’s a very romantic spot. Heading northwards, St Valentine is especially associated with Glasgow, where some of the saint’s relics are kept. North of Glasgow, you can enjoy a romantic view of Loch Lomond at Lomond Shores – a magnificent northwards panorama with snow-capped peaks on both side of the loch and its scattering of islands.
