Music to welcome the New Year

Celtic January

Scotland brings light into deepest January with a variety of winter festivals – notably Celtic Connections in Glasgow, Scotland’s premier celebration of the music of the Celtic world.  We Scots also think warmly upon our national poet this month with Burns Night celebrations throughout the land. Similarly, Shetland celebrates its Viking heritage with the spectacular fires of Up-Helly-Aa. Just like the Celts and the Vikings of old, the Scots today still defy the winter weather with fire and celebration.
